Counseling is deeply personal and relational in nature. I strive to create a place of safety and hope for all those who would seek counseling with me. I work to maintain a trauma informed and multicultural practice; meaning that I understand and am sensitive to the effects of trauma as well as the impact that culture has on the lives of my clients. As such I endeavor to practice in a way that welcomes and embraces individuals from all different backgrounds. I counsel using a variety of counseling theories and will always try to meet my clients with an approach that meets their needs. As a counselor it is my job to walk alongside my clients as they journey towards their goals and to offer support, education, encouragement, and safety as they go. Christ met all those He ministered to where they were and walked with them with grace and compassion through their struggles and triumphs. I work to model my practice after His, and seek to meet all of my clients with warmth, honesty, hope, and acceptance as we walk together to meet their goals.

Life has many joys as well as sorrows. It's important to stay connected and take special care of your self and seeking help when you need or want it is a good thing. Some areas I have helped people with include recovery from PTSD, divorce, death of a loved one, dealing with depression and anxiety, self-improvement, goal setting, life coaching and developing relationship and communication skills. I work with children, adolescents, young adults, older adults, couples and groups. My passion is to help people improve their well-being and satisfaction with themselves and their lives. I use motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and active and reflective listening. You have individual strengths that I would like to highlight and also provide encouragement and support for where you are at in life. I currently have openings and would be glad to speak with you for a free initial phone consultation to see if we would be a good match to work together.

My personal theoretical foundation is not limited to one approach. I believe it is necessary for counselors to be adaptive. Every client is different and our responses and approaches should be equally diverse. One person may need a cognitive behavioral approach whereas another would be more responsive to brief counseling. This eclectic approach will be applied to all clients. Techniques will vary between clients to best meet the individual client's needs. I specialize in trauma and PTSD. I offer EMDR and cognitive behavioral therapy to address client's needs in a personalized and productive manner. I am here to help in a way that is productive and healing to you! You've already taken one of the hardest steps - looking for a counselor. Your mental health is important! Acknowledging this and working towards growth and healing is good, hard work. I look forward to working alongside you on this journey as you learn, grow, heal, and work towards a better tomorrow.
